The living room of Cest Si Bon features a semi-transparent partition that brings in natural light and captures the entire entrance area. The embossed pattern of the Italian mineral paint decorates the entrance area, adding a touch of sophistication. The use of titanium-plated stainless steel throughout the space creates an elegant and exquisite metallic atmosphere.
The study room and the living room are separated by a large glass panel, allowing the space to be enlarged and extended through its transparent characteristic. This design choice enhances the overall openness and flow of the space, creating a more comfortable residential environment.
The realization of the Cest Si Bon design incorporates various materials and technologies. Titanium-plated stainless steel, Italian mineral paint, large-surface spray paint, system cabinets, Neolith, metal sheets, tiles, herringbone wood floors, and grey iron mirrors are just a few of the elements used to bring this design to life. The rose-gold color liquid-type ornaments laid out around the ceiling and in all areas expand the space in elegant and luxurious ways.
The design team made moderate adjustments to the existing space, with the dining room as the center point in the public area. By fine-tuning the space, the dining table was expanded to accommodate up to six people. The relocation of the refrigerator outside the kitchen area solved the concern of limited space when opening the refrigerator. The use of titanium-plated stainless steel metal throughout the space adds an elegant and luxurious ambiance.
Key tags for the Cest Si Bon design include titanium-plated stainless steel, semi-open space, four bedrooms and two common areas, transparent lighting, and low formaldehyde space. These tags capture the essence of the design and highlight its unique features.
Chen-Yu Chiu, the mastermind behind Cest Si Bon, has successfully transformed the limitations of conventional solid opaque walls. By creating visual connections through transparent glass, the design team has enhanced the interaction of users in the house, resulting in a more comfortable and inviting residential space.
The Cest Si Bon project was completed in September 2020 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The design team conducted extensive research to ensure the space met the desired objectives. The use of semi-open panels at the entrance allows natural light to flood the area during the day. The transparent study room, created using glass doors and partition walls, visually links the living room and study room, promoting a sense of unity and openness.
Despite facing challenges such as limited space and integration issues in the public area, the design team overcame these obstacles by implementing smart circulation ideas and material selection. The glass panel at the entrance creates a transparent and extended visual impression, allowing natural light to permeate the space and creating a more spacious experience.
In terms of design notes, the marble texture and herringbone flooring establish dividing lines for the open concept area, defining the rooms primarily used for the living area, kitchen, and dining area. The use of glass material in the public area surrounding the study room enhances transparency, allowing the sight of the homeowners to pass through the living room and dining area, fostering a closer connection between spaces. The study room itself is a semi-open space, featuring hidden doors and cabinets, a height-adjustable table, and underfloor storage to enhance functionality.
The Cest Si Bon design, with its hotel-themed luxury homestyle, showcases the talent and creativity of Chen-Yu Chiu. This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that meet professional and industrial requirements. It is a testament to the integration of industry best practices and competent technical features, contributing to a better world.
